i love that area so much. i've been there quite a few times, cause i grew up just two hours from there. i got bit by the photography bug because of all the beautiful waterfalls in the area. i've burned alot of film in that part of NC.

the locals say that the section if US-64 that is at the Cullasaja Gorge is the most dangerous road in the country. it is a hard thing to quantify, but once you have driven it yourself and get passed by an 18-wheeler, you'll understand. i drove that road one winter with patches of ice scattered about the pavement. it is a twisty narrow road closely bordered by a rock wall on one side and a shear drop-off with few guard rails on the other. if i was sitting on coal, i would have made some diamonds.
