I'm very sorry to here about your injuries. However, I'm glad to here that you and your friend survived.

My wife, son, and I were rear-ended 9 years ago at a red light by a pickup truck. It smashed in the back of my son's car. It happened at night, and when I got out of the car, the driver of the pickup bolted. It was dark, and I wasn't able to get the plate number. Fortunately we were all wearing seat belts - but I feel your pain.
