Wow I cannot belive I found someone who remembers North Fort.
We ran 5 miles every morning in the dark in combat boots all around north fort. Do you rembemer the pub on the corner of the center of the parade grounds? North Fort was our little piece of heaven.
Thanks for the post.
Remember that place well......tho not kindly. Came VERY close to a major fight with three basic trainees. Not good odds. Had the guy that was there with me go get one of the others in my company. 15 showed up and waited outside. Those 3 turned around and went back inside.

That sounds like a very good memory . I really think that there was something about that enviroment that made guys go lookin for a fight.
I had two article 15s for fighting but they still sent me to Primary noncomissioned officers academy. And I got a D.S.A. I did very well in the Army. I sometimes wonder if I should have stayed in. But that's another story.
Thanks for your story It made me remember some things long forgotten.
Sometimes we were all so ready to go do what we were trained to do, it just spilled out and we would take it out on eachother. And at times it got kinda ugly. I think we were a band of brothers because we fought like brothers.
