			Bagpipes at Grandfather

Looking forward to seeing all Xmarkers who will be at Grandfather later this year.
Question #1 - Anybody know the name of the vendor who was selling bagpipes, changers, etc. last year?

Question #2 - Will he (or someother bagpipe vendor) be there this year?

Question #3 - His stuff any good??????

 Thanks in advance.

Matt Matt I will answer as best I can:

 1. There are several that sell practice chanters.
I do not know all of their names.
But if you are looking for a fine quality set/ or
chanter I would talk to Harvey at Everything Scottish.

 2. Yes

 3. He sells top quality pipes.

We have used Toneczar.com.Run by Chris Hamilton a professional piper.
Don't know if he sells at Grandfather Mountain.

I wasn't there but could it be MacLellan bagpipes of Summerville SC.
I only know they exist because they sponsered Phatpiper (Ewan Brown) of the Glengarry Bhoys this year. I thought maybe because they are from the Carolinas
they may be a likely choice. I don't know wheather they do that kind of thing or not, just a guess.

			Finally asked the right one!

					Thanks for the help chaps.
I asked my son ScottishRebel (who bought a practice chanter last year at Grandfather) but he didn't know the vendor.

That I did what I should have done first, I asked my wife. Gave me the fellows business card. Duncan Soutar of St Andrews, Fife, Scotland.

So now my question is, has anyone dealt with this gentleman before? How are the pipes he sells? More specifically, if my son wants to actually purchase a first bagpipe, would this be a good place to start?

 Again, thanks in advance.

I think he may have been talking to Harvey.
 Harvey sells Soutar pipes.

 Again From his site:

"World Class Bagpipes by Dunbar, Gibson, Kintail, MacLeod, McCallum, Naill, Pettigrew, Soutar, St. Kilda and Strathmore. All pipes complete and ready to play. Your choice of bag, cover and cords. Call for more details."

Having dealt with Harvey he only deals in the best. He is also the
supplier for the Grandfather Mt Pipe Band.

Soutar had their own tent at GMHG last year behind the VIP enclosure. I have a set of Soutar pipes and an Soutar PC the I bought off a bobdunsire.com forum member when he upgraded to a Soutar set with silver. Good people to deal with.
Suggest you send them an e-mail to find out if they will be there this year. Website is: http://www.soutarbagpipes.com/

See Harvey Rich from Everything's Scottish. His store is in Linville and he will be well represented at the Grandfather Games.
All of the N.C. Pipe and Drum bands work with Harvey.

 A fine gent.
