just an aside... i've been told that kilt pins should be mildly blunt. all mine are. this allows the point to "push" the threads aside as it enters the weave instead of piercing a thread and thus damaging the cloth. of course this applies to heavy kilt wool. perhaps acrylic cloth needs something different.
