I did a quick search and did not find this, but it has probably been covered.

I suspect that teflon-coated polyviscose is a good choice for an outdoors-oriented kilt for camping and outdoor work where it is likely to get soiled. What say you all?

All kilts get dirty when you roll in the mud, no matter what you do to prevent it. Not a big deal, some kilts are made for this, or at least easy to clean again (waching machine) Utilykilts, Freedom Kilts, USAK casuals, R-Kilts, Stillwater kilts, Frugals etc. The cheaper the kilt the less you have to worry about a stain I guess (you won't get a heart attack anyway).

Robin is right. All kilts get dirty. I would suggest a PV from either USA kilts or Canadian Casual kilts as they are made from a good material and are easy to clean. A utility style kilt like a Freedom kilt, Union Kilt, or even a UK would also do nicely.

Any of those companies will get you a durable, easy to clean kilt that will take a licking.

I've worn my SWK standard camping, hiking Tahquamenon Falls, and will be wearing it to hike the falls again next month. It's a good hiking kilt, IMO.
