Sat behind the computer all morning. An early lunch and then kilted up in black heavyweight wool kilt and Argyle jacket and off to Duns to complete some paperwork at the Court office. A couple of hours at a desk in the office, then drove home for evening meal and now once again ensconced in front of the computer.

Had my morning coffee, stayed later than usual as I was meeting some friends there. Came home logged on here, and am avoiding work (will be paying for it later).
Sitting in my standard black Utilikilt at present trying to figure out what to get at the grocery store.

Took the day off "work", as I get to accompany my son to the dentist later for his wisdom-teeth extractions. Mowed some of the lawn and trimmed some trees around the property. Need to help clean-house some too.
Cloudy, mid-50's and chance of showers today, a little humid. Nice day.

I'm at work waiting for the next client and watching the snow fall in the parking lot.
Yes, I said "snow"....it's June in Colorado...what do you expect?!?

Can't quite match that. Sunrise today here 4:38 a.m., sunset 9:40 p.m. for 17 hours 2 minutes of daylight, not that we have seen any sunshine as its been overcast with intermittent light rain all day. But at least we don't have snow !

In a little bit, I'll go off to my job at the retirement home, where I'll make sure old folks are safe and well fed. I'll change incontinence briefs, give meds, and listen smilingly to senile babble from people for whom 1950 is much clearer than 2007. While I'm there, I'll ponder whether this is the reward of life.
When you think about it, in many ways, life's a crock. You grow up with the cruelty of children, graduate to a job you have to go to every day, even on the days you dread doing so and would rather do something... anything else, and then, one day, you end up in a home like the one I work at, babbling to some kid who could care less about how wonderful Glen Miller was.
Which is, admittedly a rather dim view of things, but hey... it's how I'm feeling today.

My daughter-in-law is here for a visit. She had a birthday recently, so we're having a family dinner for her. I'll be grilling hamburgers and veggies.
Earlier today we went to Chef Dane's (http://www.chefdanes.com/) and put together some meals for the freezer. Chef Dane is a cooul (pronounced "kewul") guy. He likes my khaki UK Workman's and took a card the last time we were there. I also gave him the URL here. He and his wife just had twins yesterday, so it might be a while before we see him here, but the interest is there.
They commented that I look like I know what I'm doing in a kitchen and I mentioned my restaurant experience. They offered me a part-time job. I really don't need another job, but it might be fun to help out for a few hours here and there when I can spare the time.
I'll be going shopping soon to pick up meat and veggies for tonight's dinner.
Grilling makes me happy.
