I'd be a little concerned with the dye transfering to your Buchanan. It does look good with white fur perhaps a new black sporran would be a better option?

Black is a notoriously difficult dye to get to be dense enough to start with, to keep on the material once dyed, and it can sometimes lead to the item starting to dissintergrate, due to the mordant used.
I'd tend to say play safe and buy a black sporran rather than risking a grey one, or smudges on the kilt, or worst of all a grey sporran with bald patches and a grey patch on the apron.
