    I got my new 16oz Irish Nat'l!

Well, I finally have a Tank! It's a 16oz, 8 yard Irish National, sewn by Edgar of Scotland. I ordered this beauty from Matt at the Scottish Tartans Museum.

I have several pictures in this album:

    and here is a teaser:

I must say, after wearing a USA kilts casual for well over a year, wearing a trad kilt is going to take some getting used to, especially how high it is worn. I'm also going to have to get used to the super wide kilt belt.

Missing from the ensemble is the Gunn cap badge for the Balmoral, and a leather sporran strap. They're both on order and will be here soon.

The hose are the new Lewis line that Matt carries, as well as the garters. I LOVE them.

    Brian,

Looking good! I'll get that sporran belt and cap badge out to you as soon as the badge comes in.

One very minor suggestion -- see if you can wear the garters so that the ends (not really "flashes" as these are true garter ties) hang a bit more to the front of your leg).

I love the pic in your gallery that shows the pleats swinging as you walk away!

    Aye,
    Matt

    A good looking kilt, there!
House of Edgar does weave a nice, crisp Irish National (as opposed to others...)
I too have a 16 oz H of E Irish National, and I am sure you'll be as pleased as I am

    Thanks guys!

And thanks for the suggestion, Matt.

I was surprised I got this kilt so soon. It was only 5 weeks from date of order to being delivered!

Doesn't House of Edgar have the sole rights to the Irish National? I know SWK has permission to do it in acryli-beast, but I thought HofE was the only one that did it in wool?

I think your pictures were even more set-off by the fact I have the "Irish American and Proud.." MP3, Beloitpiper posted in another thread, playing while looking through them.
