I thought I'd have a go at scanning these old prints from a holiday in Vancouver Island with Ann and her mum and my Aunt Jean in 1987. Time has taken its toll and since then Ann's mum and my Aunt have passed on, and Ann's limited mobility since her stroke in 1999 would now preclude such a trip.

Victoria harbour area. To the left of the Legislature Building, lower, the rooms where we stayed in the Royal Scot Motel overlooked the parking lot in lower left hand corner.

Great pictures, Alex. You sure got around while you were here. It's hard to believe the changes to the city in 20 years. Your aerial shot also caught the TEV Princess Marguerite at dock, and that brought back memories of when I worked on her on the Seattle and Port Angeles runs over 30 years ago.

Wow, thanks for those pictures. What? you were in Victoria and you didn't stop in for a coffee at the shop?????

As I did not arrive here until '97 even I can notice the changes. If you remember I posted some pics of a kilt I made for the bear which stands outside the Royal Scot Hotel. And one of my seamstress's fiance is head bellman there. Small world.

If you can't make it back over here I will just have to make the trip and visit you next year during our Storrington trip.
