Modern MacKenzie - My mother's maiden name. I was very close to this side of the family as a child. I got the modern in PV

Weathered MacKenzie - My mother's maiden name. I prefer the weathered and the ancient colours. The weathered was a must as it is not as widely used as the modern. 13oz wool

Ancient Watson - Wood (my father's side) is a sept of Watson. The Watson Ancient is readily available, where as the Wood tartans were not at that time. 16 oz wool.

    still to add:

    Wood - see above

Maple Leaf - It represents my country of Birth. Nothing would make me prouder that wearing this Canadian tartan.

    Tartans I own:

MacIan, lightweight traditional kilt made by Alexis Malcolm. My father's mother was a McKean, a variation of MacIan.

German National, box-pleated kilt made by Matt Newsome. My mother's mother's family was 100% German.

Edwards, Welsh cilt made by Kiltstore. My mother's father was an Edwards. I haven't actually been able to trace his line back to Wales, or back more than a couple of generations at all, but the name fit.

US Army, heavyweight traditional made by Alexis Malcolm. I served for three years active duty, two years reserve, and eighteen years civilian (and counting). Plus, it's the only "clan" to which I have sworn loyalty.

Xmarks, made by Kathy Lare. Well, duh!

    Future Tartans:

    Illinois, born and raised there.
Maryland, lived here for twenty-one years.
US Air Force, I am in the Civil Air Patrol, which functions as the USAF Auxiliary.
Dove, currently no tartan but I plan to have one designed.

And who knows which ones I may decide to put on the list.

I get a lot of compliments on this tartan.

    Universal

Black Watch (two words Todd )
    Royal Stewart

(There is a reason these are so popular. Overused or not, they are handsome!)

    Wife's Side of the Family

    Hunting Macleod (Harris)
    Dress Macleod (Lewis)

The F-H.C.A.G. is a Nicol and are a Sept of Macleod of Lewis

    My side of the Family

    Galbraith (Ancient)

My Great Granfather was a Galbraith. Though he died when I was very young I was very close to my Great Grandmother. In her memory I wear it. I thought the Galbraith ancient was really distinctive.

    Organizations

X Marks the Scot (on Order)

    SWK Black "Shadow" tartan

I am very proud of my association with this great forum and will wear my X Marks the Scot tartan kilt with pride.

The Sith have recently adopted the Black "Shadow" tartan as the official tartan of the Sith. As an apprentice Dark Lord I am happy to show my allegiance to the Dark Side of the Force and the secret order I have been recruited to join...err...

(Panache waves his hand in front of his computer monitor and says in a commanding voice)

Forget what you just read. This was not the tartan you were looking for. You can go about your business.

    Wish List

    Galbraith Modern (Another USA semi-traditional?)

Dutch Friendship (For my heritage through my Father's side of the family and the fact it is a really lovely tartan. This one is likely to be a box pleat and the next major project from the F-H.C.A.G.)

    Cheers

Montgomery on my mother's side; her mother was from Port Glasgow. Her mother's (my great-grandma) maiden name was MacIntyre, which I hope to get at some point.

    I currently have:
Hunting Mackintosh - my clan tartan.
Hunting Stewart - my regimental tartan (and universal)
Black Stewart - because I really like the tartan.

I would like to eventually get:
Red Mackintosh (because I gave my old one to my dad)
Canadian Maple Leaf - because I'm a Canadian
Clan Chattan - because my clan is a part of the Clan Chattan confederacy

    Aye Colin,

Three generations lived on a farm at Skye Glenn, Nova Scotia. I've been back and forth between the Nova Scotia tartan and the Cape Breton Island tartan...both on my list...but right now, trying to let my plastic cool off some...

I only have one right now:

Irish National - Because of my Irish Ancestry and my own Irish citizenship.
