    A while back, there was a thread where we seriously discussed the pros and cons of a nomex kilt.
    I can't seem to locate it now, but the sum was:
    Great in idea, BUT Steve (Freedom Kilts), who spent one lifetime in nomex and another making kilts thought: BAD IDEA and would be a REAL pain to actually make (mostly the reason of Bad Idea).

    (Sorry to quote you out of context, Steve, but I THINK that would be a good summary.)

    What is Nomex anyways? I've heard it mentioned a few times, but I am drawing a complete blank.

    Nomex is a fire retardant material made by Dupont, which burns at a ridiculously high temperature, and is apparently 40 years old this year.
