You look great. Wear the combo as you like - that's one important thing. Another is don't pay much attention to comments on flashes, hats, shirts, etc., unless conditioned with "in my opinion,...", "for my tastes..", or "I prefer...". I have been chastised for wearing flashes to the front and to the side. Wearing a vest untucked with a belt, a vest without a belt, and tucking a vest in a belt. As long as you do not disgrace what the kilt stands for - you are okay.

Very well said! I have my own preferences, tastes, and opinions, and they don't always match up with other folks', but that doesn't mean that I'm right and they're wrong.
