Tattoo Idea

So my idea for my tattoo is two lions rampant on each side of my torso holding up the Gordon clan crest on my chest. Something like this...with maybe more embellishment around the crest.

That was just a quick cut-and-paste I did on MSPaint. I'm going to get somebody to draw it for me. BUt what do you guys think? Bear in mind, the lions will cover a good part of my upper body (I might make them stand taller) with the crest taking up a majority of my chest.

That is an INCREDIBLE idea for a tattoo. I think your ideas are great. I think I would make the clan badge bigger. Maybe have the lions over on the ribs a bit. You might even consider something below the crest. A nice, proud Scottish quote perhaps?

Yeah, maybe with the bottom hand, the lions could be holding a strip of paper (parchment?) with a quote...

And yes, I was thinking that the lions would cover my ribs and extend from waist to chest, with the crest centered on my chest, taking up most of the space

That is an awesome idea for a tattoo, be prepared to sit for a while and have more than one appointment, I like the idea of the Rampant Lions holding a banner with a quote on it.

i think it is an awesome idea. just some things to think about though: your design is wider than taller and the torso is taller than wider. also if a chest/torso tattoo is big enough, you will have to account for your nipples. you don't want those tattooed, and they could end up being a part of the design, intentional or not.

this would make a great back tattoo, as well. still it is a great idea. go for it.

I agree with the clan crest bigger.

Keep in mind your chest can...and most likely will..."change shape" in time.
The image might get distorted in the future (think: beer,not so healthy food, less...or more...use of muscles)

I'm not a tattoo expert, but I think the chest is not the most "shape lasting" part of the human body.

Yeah, like I said, I'll probably make the lions stand taller so that it fits the shape of my body better. Once I get somebody to draw it, they can skew it as necessary.

Great idea! If it was me though, I'd get it done on my back. Your back tends to stay in the same shape, you don't have nipples on your back, and it'd probably hurt less.
