Uh-oh, Short term job assignment
Folks, I was just informed by my management a moment ago that I will be temporarily reassigned to Hyderabad, India for 4 months beginning the first of August. Unfortunately, this will mean packing the kilts away for that time as the nature of the job posting will not allow their wearing.
The worst part of this is the separation from my wife of 17 years for this length of time. While I am excited by the opportunity, I am melancholy about the separation from friends and family. I do not know how often from this point on that I will be posting. I do hope to be able to pop in occasionally while I am overseas to keep track of you fine folks.
Mike

I can understand the mixed feelings. Just try to enjoy it for what it's worth I guess. :S

Make the most of the experience. We will all enjoy hearing about your adventures in India. You should order a kilt from Matt just before you go and that will give you something very nice to think about for the 4 months away.
Cheers

I might have to convince my wife.... Hmmmmm. Maybe I can talk her into a welcome home gift?

Hey Mike,
As others have said -- make the most of your trip. We'll miss you around here.
I would think that you'd not have to completely abandon kilts while in India . . . at least for off-hours . . . since India was a British colony and there were Scottish regiments stationed there, right?
