I've taken to wearing mine at least once a week. And in that time, I've run to the drugstore several times. I went in yesterday and heard one of the men working the register say to another employee, "hey the kilt guy is back." I got a good laugh out of it.

funny..ive been wearing my UK's for years and get all q's about am i a scot, whats underneath and such...its to the point now within a 10 mile radius that most know me now and comment when im not in a kilt...but in the last year ive made an effort to wear my tartan out more...and i dont get 1/2 the comments and questions about it. folks dont comment on a beautiful MacDuff tartan with Turpin's sporran and Steve's belt...but damn they gawk at a plain ol brown workmans...

no accounting for taste i guess..

best one recently was i was headed out to a to-do with a buddy and stopped by the groc store..an older gent with a nice brit accent asked if i was a "proper" wearer of the kilt..i assumed he was referring to 'the' question...but without missing a beat, he continued..."by that i mean do you have any whiskey with you?"

and in all my glory i reached into my sporran and produced well worn flask from the late 1800's that i have and just smiled.
