			macdonald tartans

I had a question for all. I am actually affiliated with Clan MacDonald, and I was wondering to wear the MacDonald of Clan Ranald tartan, can any macdonald wear it, or do you have to be from the macdonald of clan ranald branch. Just curious. No matter what, i am going to get the MacDonald Modern tartan anyway. Just curious on your thoughts. I can't really find any connection to the MacDonald of Clan Ranald , but I do have the connection to just Clan MacDonald.
 Let me know

 Thanks

 Ard Choille

I have one question for you, do you like the MacDonald of Clan Ranald Tartan? If so wear it, wear it proudly. If you want look into your family history a little deeper, see if there is MacDonald of Clan Ranald somewhere in your family, but if you admire the tartan by all means wear it.

Boy, we're a confusing clan for sure! Even knowing exactly where my kin came from on Skye its tough. Went with Macdonald of Kingsburgh because it was closest, Macdonald Lord of the Isles because its beautiful, the generic Macdonald, and an Isle of Skye so far.
I think its pretty much up to what YOU wanna wear.

Boy...don't ever recall being called "that"....most folks use terms of a more Anglo Saxon origin when describing me...them four letter words of our ancestors...
Been thinking too....maybe I just oughta put one each of every Macdonald tartan on my wish list and be done with it...

You seem to really like the Clan Ranald... That's the writing on the wall.. You should get the Clan Ranald, it will make you very happy to own and wear the taratn you like most. Don't make the mistake of getting something that will make the tartan police happy.

Then don't forget the Macdonald of Sleat. I've got 6 yards waiting to become a kilt or 2. For myself, I hasten to add.
