Sporran Hangers
Who here uses them, please? I see them on Oconnee's site but i have not seen them much otherwise.
Or is everyone using a Sporran belt?
AND what is the correct height for the Sporran?

I use sporran hangers on some occasions, both dressy and casual.
The top of the sporran should be about one hand width below the belt buckle although when using hangers it may be a bit higher.

I use the Oconee's! They are awesome!
I have found many other sources for hangers. I will post the links when I get home.
The reason I use the hangers is that I have big belly and my sporran and strap alway drifted down below my belly. This caused my appron to pucker up.. I was forced to tighten up the strap almost to the point of being another belt. Then I was constantly checking to make sure it didn't slip down..
Now that I have the hangers, I have no issue with sporran placement or puckered approns... Nothing but good times!

Let me second the recommendation for the Oconee Leather Works sporran hangers http://oconeeleatherworks.com/SporranStraps.htm. I have used others, but the ones that he provides are sturdy and easier to use (plus the look darn nice!)
Please ignore the smiling fat man and concentrate on the hangers. They are what we are talking about after all!

I am 6' 4" 290 lbs and a 50 inch waist (hips 54inches) if I wear the kilt at the proper spot...the fell (sewn down part of the pleats) comes to just about where it is supposed to come and the pleats hang properly over my butt with out too much flair. I will have to send my personal kilt off for adjustments...it wasn't sewn properly and the fell is a bit short. It makes a big difference for us "men of substance"

5'10.5 305 ...
Whilst ordering from the Wizard, Steve turned me on to the folly of wearing your kilt just north of "crack Kills" UK style. Sure enough, when I wear my UK, the fairer sex pretty much ignores me. The odd disgusted stare not withstanding.
When I wear my SWKs' at my natural waist, even a middle aged bald fat guy like me gets chatted up pretty regularly. Plus the only lady that really counts, the Mrs., likes the look of "traditional" on me.
Steve has apparently put some pretty huge butts in kilts. I am prepared to accept his advice here.

I have only worn kilts at the traditional location. Being 6 ft and now weighing 275 (down from 320 YAY!) I agree with what has been said, they are more slimming at that location.
One the subject of hangers, I have a pair that I wear for everyday wear. I do wear a chain and belt when going out for the evening or the like.
I don't have any of Cavscout's wares yet (that is about to change! Order coming soon Cavscout!) but have seen them up close and personal and they are exceptional work very good quality.
