Sporran quandary
Help! I have a kilt night tonight in Hicksville Ontario. They may be used to one whacko running around in a kilt but they are about to be besieged with a whole rabble. To ease their shock I've decided to wear my Desert Camouflage Freedom Kilt with six pockets.
Clickety-popable piccies
Question is should I wear my traditional leather sporran with it or should I go sans sporran? A better choice would be my SWK Nightstalker sporran but I went paintballing with it and now cant quite get the paint splatter out of the weave (luckily it saved me from limping home ). Couple hours left majority rules.
Thanks.

always wear a sporran, no worries if it happens to be a bit "soiled"

Kilt with no pocket = wear sporran
Kilt with pockets = do not wear sporran
Enjoy the clean lines of your Freedom Kilt.
Cheers

I would have to agree with Panache, also if your clothes, or in this case your Sporran has paint stains don't wear them out, I may see you there not sure yet.

I agree with Panache. Sans sporran shall suffice.

Quite awhile ago, I posted an image of myself in a UK with a kilt pin. Hamish gave me (what I consider) to be some good advice...
"...besides, the Utilikilt is proudly American; why dress it up with a Scottish accessory, which it does not need? The same goes for the proposed sporran: Our Utilikilts have wonderous pockets - you simply do not need a sporran! I am sorry but, as I see it, adding these accessories gives me the impression that you are trying to tell people that, in spite of its looks, you are actually wearing a KILT!"
Even though he was referring specifically to a Utilikilt, I think the advice applies quite well to any non-traditional style kilt.
That Freedom Kilt looks great just the way it is!

Thank you and I've always worn as such. But this kilt night is less casual than trudging in the woods. Amerikilts (I believe) include a canvas sporran. Rkilts also include sporran clips, yet these two kilts are far enogh removed fromthe traditional Scottish kilt. I'll be leaving in half a mo' and will be going sporranless. Thanks all.

Probably a good point, all the advice you have been given not to wear a sporran has come from the Colonies
