Hayseed Dixie rock. The other thing about them is that AC/DC is involved with helping them in their sound which is really cool. Might want to look at Rebuilding the Wall by Luther Right and the Wrongs, a roots/Pink Floyd thing that also works for me.

    Sorry, back to the thread.

Really great pics by the way, I've started looking for this thread first and eagerly wait for the primal bit --- fire.

Hayseed Dixie and Peatbog fairies are fantastic.
I particularly like Hayseed Dixie's version of Big Bottom by Spinal tap.

Again, thanks for the pics, Robertson.

"Fairies" must have a different slang / street connotation than here in the US (and I'm hoping that's the case) . . . I don't think a band would last long over here with a name like that.

Yep, fairy is a different concept in Scotland. That's the wee folk and they're not like Tinkerbell. They're full of mischief but they take sides and they're fierce, evil fierce. Don't cross them.

And they love the McLeods so don't cross them either. The McLeods have the Faerie Flag as a sign of the promise to protect them and the Faeries always have.
Such is the enduring belief of the MacLeod clan in this talismanic rag that, during WW2, family and clan members who took part in the Battle of Britain allegedly carried photographs of the flag into the air with them. Guess what? They all survived.
I can just the Top Gun types, "What's that?" "Oh, it's a picture of the fairy flag to protect me."

    Oh, aye.

(I'm relating this with respect, btw)

    It is a different thing.

    Anyway, reference firstfoot.com, search faerie.
