Bye Bye Job
Today at work my bos told me that I either need to get better immediatly, or leave. The big thing is that he spoke with me about two months ago, and I have made big efforts to get better. I guess it was not enough. I am hoping that I can make it work for a short time, but I am getting tired of what seems like a 6 month barrier. I have not really held a job longer than 6 months since I graduated from school. Before that I had a job for 3 years until I went to school. Well, I guess I just needed to vent. Thanks for listening.

Look at it this way - If you really liked this job, you would do it better. Poor workmanship usually is a subconscious reflection of the fact that you are dissatisfied with the job. Eventually you will find a job that interests and stimulates you enough to where you won't even have to try to do a good job because it will come naturally.
There are 10 kinds of people in the world...
Those that understand binary, and those that don't.

Here's my basic rule:
workers work, managers manage.
If you lied to get the job, then tough. If the job had unique skills required and upgrades after your hiring, then the managers should manage to train you. They are supposed to manage the situation.
Unfortunately, the principle doesn't mean much if the management doesn't buy into it, or there's no Union to force it.
What it does do, hopefully, is stop you from putting yourself down because of job situations that are out of your control.
Back to St. Francis: help me change the things I can, help me accept the things I can't change, help me see the difference.
I've been there. I was unemployed for three years. Since then I've had two jobs, one for 6 years, this one for almost 19.
Practical hint: if the writing is on the wall, look for work now. It's hard to tell, from here, how serious your boss is. I'm from Scotland, all threats are real. It's easier to find work while you're working. For some reason, employers want to "raid" more than help employ people. All sorts of reasons for this but how it affects you is to use the job you've got now to make the move.
All the best.
