A fellow Kilter inquired about an "adapter" that would attach a standard sporran to the kilt belt in much the same way as the belt pouch above. We kicked around a design that we've not put into production yet but I'm wondering is there a desire for such an adapter. Since the first concept, I've morphed the wide leather loop into two narrow loops so it's a bit more low profile. I'll try and mock one up this weekend and see what you guys think.
Lemme know when you get this mock-up done... who knows, I may change my order!

I couldn't have said it better myself.
I like history and I would think that, a few hundred years ago, the kilt and accessories were worn in such a way as to be functional and out of the way rather than for "fashion". This is always my reply to someone who tells me I'm "doing it wrong".

Only in so much as you either can't have your buckle in the centre (I'm big on buckles) or you can't have our sporran the centre, The Twin suspenders are ok but probably not for me.

I couldn't agree with you guys more. Heck, this philosophy even influences what I buy to go with the kilt, not just how it's worn. For instance, I wear my leather "day sporran" all the time, even to formal occasions. Why? Because it has enough room for my stuff, and a dressy sporran doesn't. Not to mention fur doesn't wear nearly as well as plain ole leather... and I'm rough on everything, even at formal events (thank God I don't have to worry about splitting tux pants any more!)

I believe originally sporrans were worn at one's side. It was a Victorian convention to put them at one's front (and make them very elaborate and ornate to boot). I remember seeing Iolaus last year at the Campbell games and he wore his Freelander sporran at his side. It looked very natural. I suspect that this manner of wearing them look best with the simpler Rob Roy style sporrans which were originally worn this way.
