    New Laptop

I just got my new Toshiba laptop and hooked it up. Took me about a half hour to figure out how to turn on the wireless internet, and guess where the first place I went was

This whole Windows Vista thing is kinda weird. I've been running XP Pro for the last five years.

Can you post a pic? I need to buy a laptop. Though, the first thing I'd do is replace Windows with Linux, been using Linux instead of Windows since 2001.

I've been running XP Pro at work for some time and MAC OS X at home. Actually I've been running MS at work since before Windows arrived on the market and really dislike it. Linux left me a bit cold too. MAC OS X is the way to go. The myth that there is no software for it is just that - a myth. Iolas with argue with me but he's on vacation.

That all being said enjoy your new laptop but in my opinion don't add Linux unless you know exactly what you're doing. If you bought it with Windows then keep it that way.

Vista took me a while to get used to as well. Use Firefox as your browser though...IE, in my opinion, is crap. Takes WAY too long to load.
What version Vista do you have? If Basic, and need to use Word, Excel, etc, I suggest browsing over to openoffice.org, as Vista Basic doesnt have any programs with it. These are freeware, and support MS stuff. just my .02
