Hello from New Mexico
Hello, since I posted a response on another thread tonight, this feels like the right time to delurk. I normally don't join message forums, newsgroups, mailing lists, etc any more having seen far too many flame wars. But, the signal to noise ratio here is much better than most forums I've visited!
I'm in my mid-thirties and live in northern New Mexico, where it is far cooler than most people imagine, more like Colorado really. I am married, live off-grid (without mains electric, water, etc), both my wife and I work from home.
I am fairly new to kilts, though I did wear hiking skirts when I hiked the Appalachian Trail.
I recently got a UK Original which I love, and a "Mountain Kilt" which I hesitate to call a kilt but which is usable enough to wear while working on the cabin we're building. I am looking forward to buying another kilt in the next couple of weeks.
I've also started a blog about kilts, entitled fittingly enough, kiltblog.com.
I don't think I have any Scottish ancestors, which sometimes makes me feel a bit weird for wearing a kilt around. But its really comfortable, so I'm getting over that

I am interested in how you live, no electricity, etc. What kind of set up do you have? Welcome aboard.
DALE.
You don't have to be Scottish to be comfortable!

Trust me, you do have a Scot ancestor somewhere in your family tree. Scotsmen got around...
Sounds like you're living the dream. Congrats with a surge of jealousy.
