I've thought sporran hangers looked like a good idea for a while now so a few weeks ago I went to my local leather store and bought a pair that they sold as key ring holders for a few bucks. The first thing I noticed was that the sporran was now free to bounce and swing wildly as I walked. Not a good thing. I've never had this problem at all with the chain or a belt. The second problem was that the hangers and the sporran were able to move side to side on the belt, until one or the other encountered the buckle. Again not a good thing. The third thing, and certainly not a deal breaker, was that it was very annoying when the time came to relieve myself. Obviously, with a sporran chain or belt, you can easily swing the sporran to the side and out of the way. With the hangers, you are forced to hold everything up. On the plus, it does eliminate the creasing of the apron.
I will probably use the hangers again but only if I can figure out how to stop the sporran pendulum effect.

Here it refers to those elasticated thingies that ladies use to attach their nylons to their undergarments.

Here those are "garters" and I used to wear 'em in the Marine Corps, to hold me socks up and me shirt down. Yeah, and the daily working shirt was called a "blouse," too . . . .

Couple of times, how do you say "ouch" in Gaelic? Still, I can't gripe too much, they did their job, and once upon a time when I had a big presentation to make out in the civilian world I put my garters on and they gave me the extra confidence to carry it off.
