Yes, I too prefer a belt. Chains will eat up kilts with a little time. If you wear a kilt only once or twice a year they're OK, but . . .
My belts all have a velcro back—the smoother side. It works really well, and is necessary if your belt is made up of thinner hides like deer or elk.

Here it refers to those elasticated thingies that ladies use to attach their nylons to their undergarments.

In that case you might sell them calling them suspenders... but you're going to have a lot of unhappy customers.
Umm... on a slightly different note, do women still use those alot over there? In my experience they're not that common stateside...

Here those are "garters" and I used to wear 'em in the Marine Corps, to hold me socks up and me shirt down. Yeah, and the daily working shirt was called a "blouse," too . . . .

Couple of times, how do you say "ouch" in Gaelic? Still, I can't gripe too much, they did their job, and once upon a time when I had a big presentation to make out in the civilian world I put my garters on and they gave me the extra confidence to carry it off.
