Well after reading through this thread I've come to like two suggestions for the motto.
The first is simply "By Choice." I like this shortened version more than "By Choice, Not Blood" because, to me, that seems redundant. Obviously it's not by blood if it IS by choice. The longer version is sort of like: Completely Green, not Blue.
The second one I like, and I think I like this one more, is "In Kilted Fellowship." Because really, could you not define XMTS as a kilted fellowship?

I prefer the original "In Kilts Fellowship" for the simple reason that "fellowship" is not kilted. What would that be in Latin or Gaelic?

Whoa Nelly!
This poll came about from a previous thread I started about XMTS and our fellowship. There was a lot of enthusiasm for a motto and a clan plant badge.
Unlike the clan plant badge (dandelion) which appears to have a lot of strong support, the motto seems like it could use a bit more mulling over before a vote.
I think it would be better for the forum for me to close this thread down and start a new one where people could come up with some good choices.
I hope this is alright with everyone. Even members of the Mod Squad can be guilty of being too enthuisiastic when it comes to X Marks the Scot!
