    A kilted afternoon.

So there I was about 11 AM, standing in the driveway in a pair of shorts (yeah, yeah, I know, but I don't have a kilt I feel like getting dirty and greasy, and I had to change a flat tire so we could take a car to the local auto salvage yard), and the phone rings. It's one of Red_Raven_Studio's friends asking us to come to lunch in downtown Prescott.

I quickly nipped in to don my new Stillwater kilt, and off we went. Her friend was surprised to see me in a kilt.

"So you wear a kilt normally," she asked.

"Pretty much," I said. Then she had to know all about whether or not I was Scottish and what my clan was and she asked *GASP* the question. I referred her to Red_Raven_Studios for the answer.

After lunch we decided to do some errands, since we were out anyway. We started at the shop where RRS gets her weaving yarns and supplies. The ladies there liked the kilt and had to check the yarn size and how it was woven (Excuse me for getting fresh, one of them said). They are now carrying wound spools of the perfect yarn for weaving tartans. A one pound spool is about $40.00.

Drew a whole bunch of envious stares (I prefer to think they were envious) from men whose wives wouldn't let them wear a kilt. Eventually it was time to go back home and change out of the kilt and back into shorts to finish disposing of the broken car.

Not quite perfect. No beer, and I still had to come home and take care of the damned car.

Aside from the lack of beer and the car...sheesh, sounds good to ME.

that's why you need a X-kilt... perfect for working on the car/yard work/anything that might mess up a nice wool kilt...and since it's cheap, you won't be to upset if it gets dirty... even if it does, if you chose wisely on the fabric, toss it in the washing machine and forget about the dirt...

but then we would get nothing done as I would have knees to play with all the time. Much more fun in kilts then shorts!

I just don't care for the way they look. Or any of the "contemporary" kilts, like the utilikilt.
