    A new one on me

Well, I went and served dinner tonight to members of my church kilted. This was the group which contains "Middle Aged" through "Senior Citizens." While I was there I got a lot of compliments, Everyone who was a little bit Scottish wanted to talk to me, and I got cat calls from "Grandma Ladies." It was a great night, and a good experience. Cat calls and whistling from grandma ladies is a new one on me. Oh yes someone told me my knees were showing too.

I have stopped being surprised at who will say what where. The most amazing thing about a kilt is that people feel like they can comment. And it doesn't matter what you say back. If you explain things: ah well, Scots never stop talking. If you are rude: ah well, Scots are always looking for a fight. If you're wearing a kilt, you're like a Scot so you're one of those two.

    Isn't it grand?!

Did some kilted running around yesterday before going to a movie night at a friend's house. Noticed that the men mostly stared, or frowned. The women mostly smiled, while trying to look like they weren't looking.

But also never under estimate a grandma - it's safer.

    Even in a kilt

Grandmas are like kilt wearers - they just don't care what others think of them. That gives them a lot of latitude for "eccentric" behaviour.

Are you suggesting that we are "eccentric" also?
