    Blade Blanks in Canada

    Hello,
I have been doing some research for a DIY Sgian Dubhs project. I have some friends I would like to make a few for as Christmas presents. I would love to be able to make the blades myself, but not being a blacksmith, and being new to this whole DIY thing (my Dremel tool and I are starting to be good friends), I am looking at having to order them. I am kind of wary of importing the blades across the border into Canada. Does anyone know of a blade manufacturer in Canada?? I have done some poking around online but I can't seem to find one.
    Thanks
    Sara

Try contacting Atlanta Cutlery to see what experience they have exporting to Canada. Here's the link to their sgian dubh blades.

You may want to try Lee Valley. They have some nice, quality blades available though they are not sgian shaped.

Are they not hardened steel and wouldn't filing be long and tedious? BTW SiWC, in case you din't know the closest Lee Valley to you is in Ottawa (as is head office). Might be worth the drive, I used to drive an hour to north T.O. unil they built one 5 minutes down the road.
