I have had only one opportunity to try such. I was expecting it to be harsh, horrible, and generally awful. I was oddly surprised that it was quite enjoyable.

Our Local Crate and Barrel is only a few blocks from home, I'll be checking those out tomorrow.

I do have to agree that Jamison's Irish Whiskey is a very pleasant drink.

I have 2 of the Glencairn glasses that I bought at Wilson's in San Francisco (formerly Hector Russell). They are my favorite glasses for whisky. They just fit the fingers right, and are small enough to fit into a sporran to take to a games, where folks are wont to share the contents of their flasks.

Check out this deal though. With shipping from Scotland, the cost for six glasses is GBP 27.65. That's about the best deal I've seen.
