    What is your favourite tartan?

Although I am a MacGregor, I have two favorite tartans: Stewart Black and MacLeod Dress. I think the MacLeod Dress would be perfect pleated to the first black stripe so the yellow flashes as the kilt swings.

What is your favorite tartan and why?

My favourite is Graham of Montrose. My paternal Grandmother is a Graham, but that is not the only reason I like it. In fact, I generally like all tartans that are based in blue, green, black, and white. When you think about it, that's a long list!

I'd have to say the weathered Gordon. No real reason other than as a change from the usual modern Gordon. Next would be the Dyer, then the Laurie. I like dark tartans. The Welsh Watkin works for me too.

I'm quite fond of the US Navy (Edzell) tartan. First of all, I like the colors, and secondly, it's a tartan I'm associated with. Though... the McDuck tartan appeals to me for its whimsy.

I think the MacDonald modern is a very unique and striking tartan.

It's way too hard to come up with one favorite tartan.

Here are my current favorites and also the ones I wear the most.

    In no particular order.

USMC - I have a certain fondness for this tartan for the obvious USMC (ret) reasons. I have it pleated to stripe and to sett.

Black Stewart - I like the look of this. Again, I have it both to stripe and sett.

MacMillan Hunting Modern - I only have this one to sett.

    No way!

    Impossible!

It varies from day to day and mood to mood.

That's like picking your favorite kid or favorite girlfriend....

I do like all the ones I've purchased more than the one's I've not...but after that...its all good.
