I'm likely stating the obvious here but for what its worth...
If you pleat to the "double stripe" the overall perception of color and tone will be more unified front to back. If you pleat to the single stripe in the green field - the kilt will have a more two tone effect with the back obviously lighter than the apron.
Personally, I prefer the more unified look but either way - I think its a nice tartan and its going to make a great looking kilt.
