Saturday watching my friends son play a soccer match I was approached by a Lady with a U.K. accent (perhaps Manchester?) asking me what tartan I was wearing and what my family affiliation to it was. With all the lovely tartans you wear, are you ever challenged by the "Tartan Police , volunteer reserve division"?
Just Curious. And a bit jealous of that kilt, very striking.
Actually, no! I do not believe I have ever been questioned about my connections with any clan or tartan although I suppose that very rarely someone will ask, "What is that tartan?", but they do not press further questions. I find that no-one really takes much notice of my kilts thesedays.

A beautiful kilt which I am sure you will want to wear often, but collecting kilts is like collecting cars, you can only wear or drive one at a time.
So true, Alex! However, I have been known to change outfits three or four times a day, when my activities have been particularly diverse that day!

Many thanks for passing on the message from Tristan, Jake. He and Hugh must have wondered what was going on - Panache also got into conversation with them at Pleasanton and my name came up in their conversation too!

When I joined a year ago you were announcing Number 65. It's not such a stretch to see number 100 by xmas 2008 or before, sir.

Maybe because the British have manners and we Americans don't?

Ham,
That would be a Grand Tartan, quite possibly becoming as popular as IOS
