Splash_4,
I know what MacHummel went through to get the Maple Leaf in PV.
By the time he gets enough committed paid orders, starts the material process and gets the material it could take some time. If he gets enough paid orders to make it worth while he will probably get extra material anyway. The Maple Leaf sold well here on the initial offer and has continued to sell right through the Ontario highland games circuit this summer. With the recent popularity of the IOS I can see this being a big seller this winter and next summer on the festival circuit.
I'm sure MacHummel will be getting a piece for himself too.
You have two options, get on the paid list now or pray theres a dozen or so others out there that want one. I think there is and if so you can get in on a kilt a little later.
Let's get enough paid orders to help a fellow x-marker get in on the IOS in PV !!!!.
His fate may be in your hands.

One question:
APPROX. how much do we mean here?
$150 (CDN)? $200 (CDN)? $300 (CDN)?
(Just trying to get a GENERAL ballpark of what level of financial commitment we are talking here.
(NO PROMISES to hold you to it, just wondering on the range, if you can GUESS-> cover yourself with stipulations or PM me, if necessary.)

MacWage, I too have tried to nail Pete down to a price. I Memory serves I got my 5 yard Maple Leaf for the $260 range and 8 yard was in th $400 range. The Maple Leaf in PV was a little more for the custom weaving setup. I am considering that the IoS will be a little more than that given the need to pay royalties. Now today the Canadian dollar is almost .97 US so assume par and you might get a bit of a deal.
More importantly, I believe that nobody is weaving Isle of Skye in poly-viscous only in wool. I assure you that our Maple Leaf is top quality and Pete will not accept anything less than highest quality, believe me we had to wait months for this. It's a gorgeous tartan and to be in PV I'll give Pete a blank check because he has yet to let us down.

Still waiting to see if I can buy a few yards of fabric rather than a finished kilt.....

I would be interested, though money is tight right now. I would probably also be interested in a few yards of fabric if I couldn't afford a kilt.

You know what Pete's doing don't you?
But seriously the Maple Leaf was worth the wait. I'm in for sure (and will certainly pay for it when the wife finds out). Everyone else will pay far less than me . How many confirmed orders/commitments do you need before you proceed Pete?

I'm interested and clicked the ready button. Let me know when you reach critical mass and how to proceed.
