It seems to me to be lighter than my wool kilt jackets (crail tweed, and black PC). While modelling it for the picture above I accidently spilled my drink on it and i t seems that the material is very stain resistant (the spill wiped off easily). The fit and workmanship are good. The front two outside pockets are functional. In addition there are two inner pockets and a breast pocket. The diamond buttons are a handsome antique silver rather than bright metal. I haven't had an occasion yet to wear it out and about but it seems very comfortable.
Perhaps Jake would offer his thoughts from his field test?
