There's gotta be something - The booklet says that laptop, wireless access, is available? I hadn't made up my mind about the laptop yet. I was thinking on maybe a real vacation - no net! They do have computers available at 65 cents a minute.
I'm going on Celebrity - maybe each ship/cruise line is different ??

Most, if not all, of the ships have got an internet cafe now, and I believe they will let you hook up your laptop there. Of course, I don't understand folks who spend the money for a cruise, then sit in front of the computer.![Confused](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)
I did use the computer on my cruise on the Mediterranean, but that was just to send a few emails. You know, the "I'm in Europe and you're not" types of email.

You're right! I'm not taking the laptop! It will be a real vacation!
Now - back to the Gizmo. I still will get one, maybe even today, cause if it works for Ron it will work for me!!

Having been in the US Navy for five years, much of it spent at sea, I know better than to go out on the ocean without something to occupy my time. Besides, I like the thought of being the guy sitting in the deck chair, playing WoW on my laptop.

That was my first thought. We never go on a cruise w/o a laptop, two rechargeable two-way radios, two iPods etc.
They have all prohibited irons though due to danger of fire.

Okay, that's not so bad. That's not really any different than my taking several books to read on deck.

After logging some time on the coolest surfboard available (CVN 68), I know better than to go on the ocean unless thar be a particularly good reason. Now, I would ride the Nimitz again with half a pack of skittles and a 32 card deck. The world's coolest surf board is a particularly good reason to go to sea.
Anything else - I would need some serious toys/diversions. Other boats are just, well boats. And on the Nimitz I am pretty sure you could work out something for the gizmo.
It sounds like a really cool kilt worthy appliance. I must acquire one. Then if my wife keeps prodding me to take some silly tourist cruise - I can point out that they don't allow the gizmo on board. If she can book passage on the old Grey Ghost - Me and the gizmo are happily going along.
Good work men. Job Done!
That's one of the great things about this board, the rabble is unsurpassed when it comes to sorting things out.

I'm still trying to imagine cruisegoers using outlets improperly...not a pretty sight.

P.S. I, too, have a little steamer and it works great.
