kilt hose
Has anyone seen purple kilt hose worn by anyone before? I was thinking of buying some, but didn't know if they would look a little weird. What color does purple go with as far as with kilts.

Just search Isle of Skye. Both McMurdo and Riverkilt wear purple hose with their Isle of Skye. Other purple tartans can be complimented with purple hose such as Warrior and Pride of Scotland.

Matt Newsome has Purple kilt hose through the Scottish Tartan Museum here is the link
I picked up mine from an ebay seller here
I find I wear them only with my Isle of Skye, but i think if I had the Warrior tartan they would go well with it, there are others out there with some purple to them.

So, you're buying the socks first, and then the kilt to match the socks? Cool, first we buy the tshirt and then we buy the Harley.

I'm not sure if you're only considering traditional kilts, but purple hose (and other less-common colors) also spice up a solid color or contemporary kilt nicely. I wear mine with a medium grey brushed canvas kilt to good effect.

Aye Mike,
I was hesitant too. Finally took the risk with STM's purple Lewis kilt hose. I love them.

They also go well with my purple Warrior tartan casual kilt from USA Kilts, but no pics of that combo yet.

I call this one "Clan Purple: Northwestern University sept." Three not quite matching purples. This is the Warrior tartan in a USAK casual kilt.
This snapshot did not catch the colors too well, but those are the same hose that Riverkilt is wearing above.

Okay, you guys have got me curious. Can you link me to the Warrior tartan, please?
It doesn't show up on STA or B&S lists.
Also realized that the McGregor film tartan has purple tones.

Its a fashion tartan from Marton Mills. USA Kilts offers casual and semi-traditional kilts in the tartan.
Click on the USA Kilts link above left and you're there.

Ron,
An earlier post of yours that showed the purple hose with the IOS sold me. When I finally become a member of the BOIOS, they will be regularly worn with mine.
