    Unexpected kilt sighting

Here in Seattle, I'm used to the occasional random Utilikilt sighting, but seeing a traditional kilt out and about is still pretty rare.

However, last night (9/22/07) I was driving down 35th Ave NE and saw a kilted man strolling down the street. My wife and I were on our way to dinner, so I wasn't able to stop and chat.

The tartan looked like it may have been a Macgregor, but I'm not sure. Otherwise, the gent looked dapper in a brown crail and oatmeal hose.

So were one of you rabble prowling the streets...?

I was prowling the streets, but not in Seattle. Regardless if it is anyone here, it is always fun to come across another Kilted gentleman, especially if they are so dapper.

That's what House of Edgar calls a crail jacket. Everywhere else I know of calls THAT one a Braemar jacket. A crail jacket is the same body, but instead of the 3 buttons down the sleeve, it only has 1 on the back side of the arm (the side your pinky finger would be on).

The MAIN difference between an Argyll, Crail and Braemar jacket is the cuffs...

I need one of those so that I'll finally get out of the habit of wiping my nose on my sleeve.

'twas not I. Got crammed into a pair of Dockers for my sister's wedding reception. Was either that, or get my hair lopped off. But, afterward, I did change into the Armstrong, before I hopped into the car and headed home.
