Looks like fun. I have a brother who lives in the area but I have plans for that weekend. I do get up to Memphis from time to time and will be on the lookout for any kilt nights in the area.

I'll keep you posted by mentioning here under Kilt Nights. With all the Scot events going on in this area of the country at this time of year I propbaly won't plan one before early December.

Yup...I'll be at the Clan Barclay tent(s) in spaces 1 and 2. We are also holding the AGM at the THF this year, there are Barclays coming in from all over the country. I'm excited. I hope everyone can stop by for an introduction. I'll try to make it down to visit Dirk's tent.
Saturday October 6th. Gates open at 8:30 AM.

Wish I could make it but with a new baby my travel is very limited.

Tennessee Highland Festival is this weekend. For those who have attended in the last three years, please take note that the festival is at a new location. Kittrell is about 7 miles east of Murfreesboro on Hwy 70S. Please see the webite in the first post. It has directions. There is a free Ceilidh at the site Friday night. There was a lurker or two that stopped by last year. I hope they will stop by this year as well.

The day was warm, but if you stayed in the shade it was OK. I went down to clan booth #1 to see Heathbar of the Barclay'. They were the honored clan this tear. I got a chance to meet his clan's commissioner William Barclay. I had never met a "feathered one" before so it was pretty cool
This fellow did a pretty good job of conducting 3 marching pipe bands. I told him later what I good job he did & he said that they were so good his job was easy & "I could'nt believe it, they were all in tune to each other!
This fellow is the flute / penny whistle player in the band The Secret Commonwealth. They really put on a good show. YES he is Japanese

The day just wasn't warm. It was dang hot. I sweated so much, not once did I have to use the porta-john's. We had Barclay's to come from all over the country. Our Plains commissioner Ralph wore his Barclay dress trews and someone he had met in Kansas 2 weeks ago recognized him. I'll post a photo of him. He really is a great guy. If any of you get to games in the Plains states, please stop by to say hello. He will be at 8 events next year. The pic of my Dad's new kilt didn't turn out very well. He also wore the kilt too low and it didn't fit right on him. I'll have to stage a photo op of him this weekend.
One thing I did learn from our visitors was that in Scotland, Aberdeenshire I think, the Loud McLeod is known as the "Bloody Barclay" Everyone got a kick out of that.
