    Beloitpiper in Glasgow

So Greg (Beloitpiper) managed to make it over to Glasgow for the weekend with two of his friends.
There were a lot of pictures taken, here are just the ones from my camera.
If you are reading this thread, hang on for Greg's pictures, too. he took a lot more than me and he has a much better camera.

Greg, Ted and Doug arrived at Prestwick on Friday and I picked them up and took them to their hostel.
We then went to an Irish pub called Failte to watch the Irish rugby match and listen to a band.
Then we had a quick pint at the Atholl arms before heading off to our respective beds.

On Saturday we started with a full Scottish breakfast at Bradfords. A beautiful place, great food and a wonderful experience.
The we done a little tourist shopping and went to The Glasgow cathedral, The Provost's house, (Oldest house in Glasgow) and the necropolis.
We dropped in at the dreaded heritage of Scotland store to get Ted and Doug to try on kilts and then headed to the Piper's tryst for a traditional Scottish dinner.
Haggis and venison was enjoyed and the guys very kindly paid my part of the meal after I stupidly lost my wallet. (And so I was buying drinks the next day to make up for it. Kind lads indeed.)
I headed home to get cash and sort out some drama at my house and the guys went to O'neills and then to the Islay inn.

On Sunday we headed to Pollok park to see the Burrell collection, the highland cows and Pollok house.
After that we went on a wild goose chase before eventually finding a place that was showing the Scottish rugby match.
More haggis and some good ale before we headed to the Brunswick cellars to listen to some rock music and play trivial pursuit.

On Monday we visited Crookston castle, The national piping centre and the Kelvingrove museum. A few kilt shops took up a good bit of time and then the lads were on their train back to the airport.

Here are some of the pictures. (There are a lot, by the way.)

The full Scottish breakfast. (Greg really liked Lorne Sausage.)

    Greg with an Instakilt... Aeeeee

Ted and Doug trying out kilts.

Then there was the Glasgow Cathedral.

At the Piper's tryst Ted and Doug tried haggis and Scottish venison and enjoyed it far more than they expected.

And Greg adored his Haggis, neeps and tatties.

The next day we enjoyed dirks at the Burrell collection, Highland cows and Pollok house. (Which is Greg's new summer house.)

    Yay, Dirks!!!!

    And fancy rooms!!!

    And beautiful houses!!!

    Not to mention cows...

    And petting cows...

    Everyone liked the Highland cows.

Even if they did get a bit frightened while feeding them.

And then there was some time to pet the Clydesdale horses.

After Pollok park, we headed to the pub.

    We enjoyed the saltires.

After the rugby, Greg beat us all at trivial pursuit.

    And we generally celebrated.

    On to Monday!
We headed to Crookston castle whih is, apparently, Greg's winter home.
    See how majestic he looked?

And to the National Piping Centre and Museum.

Where we saw some pipes reputed to have belonged to Prince Charlie.

Then there was a little time at a Tartan Tat store.

    ...
    Some Irn Bru...

And off to the Kelvingrove museum.

    To see armour...

And play with the wolf skins...

So that's all I've got, but I'm sure Greg will have more than a few.

Great pics. Sounds like you did a fine job of showing them the sights.
