    Utilikilt review

I wanted to wear my utilkilt a few times before I wrote a review on it. I know a lot of people have them and like them so I figured I would give one a try I got the original model.
I wore it to a local seafood festival mowing the lawn and today washing the Jeep.
I love the pockets they are great I put tons of stuff in them and they are easy to get into.
The fit is ok but I expected that my build is such that not much unless taylored nothing fits very well. I had to get a 34 waist insteed of a 32 because of hip size no big deal a belt takes care of the extra.
I like the sewn down pleats they wrinkle kind of easy but that dosen't bother me any, I do wish the apron was wider more like a traditional kilt but the more I wear it the more I get used to it.
Over all I see why people like them they are very nice for what they are a utility kilt. I don't know that I will buy another one but I do know that my FK will be a cargo model.

When you get your FK DO get the front slash pockets. Of all the pockes I got on my FK it is those that I value most. I do agree wih you with regards o the narrow apron on the UK.

I know that this is a complaint of many guys, and I too prefer the look of a wider apron. However, the purpose of the narrower one is to drop between your legs while working. I shoot film and video, and am regularly on the ground or other weird places at times. I have an RKilt, and the only thing I don't like (compared to my UK's) is that the apron is always either in the way or I'm exposing more than I should.

I wont ever be wearing one to work Navy may have a problem with it But I can see what you are talking about for work around the yard the narrow apron would drop between your legs better.

I like the narrower apron because there is no sporran to push it down. Even when not wearing a sporran with my Stillwater Economy, it doesn't drop between my legs on its own when sitting.

With the much stiffer fabric on my new denim utilikilt (blog review coming soon), I can not imagine that it would drop between my legs if it were wider. Actually, the new denim is so very stiff it might not even stay down when pushed into place of it weren't narrower than on a traditional kilt.

Do you think they would accept a kilt if it was white with 13 buttons?
