Black boots recommendations?

I think it all depends on the look you're going for. Doc Martens or similar style boots are good for just casual, but I have a few friends that go for the more punk look and they were their 20 hole knee high boots and it looks good on them.

I wear docs. I have 10-hole capped steel toe for a punk/skinhead look, and a pair of 8-hole soft toe that are a little dressier. The steeltoe Docs have a roomier toe box, so you might be able to go a half size smaller in steel toe, which would compensate for the fact that you need a half size... but no promises. Try before you buy.
