It also occurs to me that we just had a poll about most attractive tartan, which might have some bearing on what we're talking about, here.

I'd like to see the Jerry's Nightstalker tartan available in a thrifty.
Best regards,
Jake

I think that either Holyrood or Caldonia as a wool heavyweight kilt would be a good addtion for Stillwater. They are handsome and universal tartans that anyone can feel comfortable wearing.

Yes, I've been checking the "new tartans coming soon" for quite a while, now.
I've been thinking about what tartans aren't available in a less-expensive form elsewhere on this forum
I'll second the vote for a Robertson, how about hunting or hunting ancient as they are not available in any other form (than wool) and would complement the line. The red is available in synthetic at the Frugal Corner and USA Kilts. Some of the below are also offered by Rocky but having them available in a thrifty version for new/casual wearers would be nice.
Not sure what proprietary rights would allow but:
IOS
Maple Leaf
Nightstalker in thrifty or wool
Wider selection of solid colors
Pride of Scotland
Gunn modern
Weathered anything
Scotland's National
Something in blue--Ramsey? X marks?
Moosedog
On edit: Oops-- I see several of these are available at The Frugal Corner. I know we have enjoyed a variety of experiences with them, just wanted to point out there seems to already be an inexpensive source for those particular tartans.

For new tartans, I'd go for California and X Marks too.
Okay, and a heavy weight Maple Leaf too
Best regards,
Jake

I'll add another vote for the Maple Leaf tartan, preferably in the standard or heavyweight models (or both ).

I've been hoping to find the Ross hunting tartan (but Ross red would do).
