Well, speaking from experience, now that I have four leatherneck kilts, 1 pleated to sett, two pleated to stripe, and one sportkilt pleated to who knows, that tartan sure is accepted around town and on base.

Of course the fact that maybe 50% of the local population has some sort of tie to the Corps, might have something to do with it!

I wonder how you would say "kilt" in latin?

Then we could have Semper Fidelis __________ as a latin motto.......

According to the University of Notre Dame's Latin Dictionary, the Latin for "kilt" is either "subligaculum" (pl. "subligaculumi") or "subligar" (pl. "subligaris").

    Hmmm…

"X Marks The Scot - Semper Fideles Svbligacvlvmi."

Has a nice ring to it, don't you think?

Can't think that it will catch on though...... look how much of a problem we had with the dandelion............

    Indeed it does.

As they say, "Quidquid latine dictum sit, altum sonatur" ("Whatever is said in Latin sounds profound").

If we could get all the masons in the US to wear kilts, we could take over the world. Probably easier!
