from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Don't worry about how weird it may be, it's a bit weird almost anywhere to most people. If you want to wear it than Kilt up and sally forth. Don't worry about your English either, it's fine.

No te procupas, hay unos de nosotros que tienen español. Pero, porque la majoria no tienen, voy a cambiar la idioma.
y bienvenidos to the rabble.
I have friends who live in the Buenas Aires part of Guadaljara and I have visited them several times while wearing the kilt. I also visit other parts of Mexico very often, and alway while kilted.
I have never had a problem, except people wanting their picture taken with me.
Wear the kilt proudly!

Welcome, you'll see quite a few kilts around Cancun. I never even got a second glance with all of the tourism and weddings from the UK. Puerto Penasco and San Carlos are a little different story over on the Sea of Cortez. Just a lot of long looks but no comments, a few kid giggles but that is everywhere. O'Neille

It may be weird for others, but do not let others stop you from being comfortable.
Pontelo con orgullo.

Mis amigos se dicen Falda - o se usan la palabra Kilt!
No existe una plalabra especial para kilt.
¿ Falda, Kilt ? ¿ Que importa ?

I love to hear of other non-Scots wearing the tartan. I think you should venture out in it and bask in all the positive comments you'll get. Wear it proudly.
Welcome aboard!

Welcome from West Texas. I have a few Mexican friends who wear Irish kilts in honor of Los San Patricios.
