One less McMurdo
I thought I would put this here, my Uncle McMurdo who I was named for passed away this morning. He had been suffering from Parkinson's disease for some time now and had not been the same after a fall about 3 years ago. There will be a memorial service in 2 weeks however he is to be cremated tomorrow. My Uncle Murdy, as he was fondly known, has been the second most important male figure in my life only behind my father. He was my godfather and he and my Aunt Jean have always been there for me.
In a way it is a relief mostly for my Aunt Jean as she is also getting on in years and it has become increasingly difficult for her to manage. I am not sure how I feel. The best I can describe it is feeling numb, and strangely empty. I think I will log off for a while, maybe take a walk, maybe go up to my Aunt and Uncle's I'm not sure, anyway I just thought I would let you know.

I wish I could think of something ,wise, helpful, and perhaps even mildly witty to say at a time like this.Sadly, all I can come up with is;"I am very sorry."
