Maple Leaf tartan, PV on ebay

    Item number: 320160466606

It's lightweight, 10-11 ounce. This is probably the stuff that He Who Shall Not Be Named that fomerly owned a kiltmaking enterprise used for his Maple Leaf kilts. Be warned that it might be a bit light, but the price is sure right. This would be PERFECT stuff for that first "practice" kilt, using Barbs Book, before tying into $200 worth of worsted wool. It's so cheap that I'm even tempted, even though I'm not Canadian.

Link. I think Sheep in Wolf's Clothing made a kilt using this stuff and left a review. Hmmm, I wonder how dificult it is to make a ML vest & tie?

I did make one using what looks like the same stuff. I liked it. It holds pleats well for the weight. The kilt is still serving me well. A little pilling but not much. It was nice to wear on those hot summer Highland Games Days.
I might pick up some more. Thanks!

Well, I just ordered my 8 meters. I would have preferred to buy it from Pete, and keep the money in forum, but every time I asked he was reserving fabric for kilt orders, until the last time I asked there wasn't any left.

Knowing the popularity of the Maple Leaf, people may want to jump on this quick. And remember - the Maple Leaf is asymmetric - you'll need 7.3 meters for a full-length kilt.

That's ashame that you weren't able to get some of Pete's ML. Still I am interested in seeing this material when it comes in. But ya know no one, as I recall, has a box pleat Maple Leaf .

Gary you are my hero! Now, are you sure you're 'Merican? I guess you've forgiven us for what transpired in Sackett's Harbor*.
