So sorry to hear it Rex. I've been through that before. Not much worse feeling than being robbed... so violating.

Practice. My guess is that people generally store stuff in similar places. If you rob a few houses, you know where to look. As it was, they opened stuff, went through drawers and pulled stuff out.

I'm grateful the guy(s) found what he was looking for and left without doing much more damage.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. At least it wasn't a "robbery". Burglary is disturbing because of the unknown nature of those involved. Robbery is face to face and usually involves a more violent type of individual.

Sorry to hear of it Rex. Will insurance cover any of it or is the deductible too high?

Sorry to hear of this. Hope things get back to normal for you soon. I know when the folks that tried to get in our house awhile back almost succeeded I was jumpy as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rockers for awhile.

Yes it always feels terrible, and anger is the result, at least for me. This is pretty typical though, cash, loose change, and small stuff easily sold that is current and cool.

Same thing happened to me several years ago. I even think I know who did it, but there is no way to prove it. Better security may help, but if they really want in, they will get in. Normally this kind of thing does not happen when one is home, confrontation is not desireable from the thief's point of view, either.

They took a VCR I had purchase second hand for $20, and my kids piggy banks, a bit over $400, mostly in small bills and change. And yes, most people do keep their stuff in similar places, and the thieving b******s know where to look.

    Hope you recover soon !
