I have a SWK standard, and may invest in a heavyweight some day. On the other hand, I can order a 16 oz from Frugal Corner (and get a wider variety of tartans) for roughly the same price as an SWK standard.
Anyone able to compare quality of the Frugal Corner 16 oz against the SWK Heavyweight?
(I can order a 13 oz from Frugal Corner and get a much wider variety of tartan for a lot less than an SWK heavyweight)

I have two Heavyweight Stillwater kilts, a black and a green solid "shadow tartan". They are a wonderful way to own a solidly built wool kilt without breaking the bank. The green is especially nice as the tartan pattern is quite visible.
Enjoy your new kilt!

It's my understanding that the Frugal 16s are comprable to the SWK Standards, and the 13s to the phased-out SWK Economies.
But there remain lingering doubts about FCs customer service, so if you do decide to order from them, let us know how it goes?

That's what I'm waiting for, more customer service reports. Well, that and the fact that I need a formal jacket worse than another kilt right now...

My order has been arranged with them to my satisfaction (granted, I have a higher tolerance of wait time than most… ). Their new customer services person is a real joy to work with. Not as good as Jerry, but still ok. They are apparently waiting on a shipment from their suppliers, so it could be a little bit yet.

That has been their song for a while now. Since they don't have a good reputation I remain sceptical of them.

I have a SWK standard only thing I don't like about SWK is that if you are built like me 31-32 in waist 41 in hips you have to order a large waist size to try to get them to fit through the hips. I had to order a 34 and it is still tight in the hips but other then that can't say anything bad for what they are SWKs are great.

How do Stillwater Standards adjust? I know that it comes with straps, but is the advertiseed size (ie 40) at the 1st hole (largest) or the last hole (smallest). How much play in and out do they come with?
